Financial Assistance

SBA Disaster Loans: The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest federal disaster loans to Southern California businesses, homeowners, renters, and private nonprofit (PNP) organizations. Loans are available to:
- Businesses of All Sizes & PNP Organizations: Repair or replace damaged real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, and other business assets. Apply for loans up to $2 million.
- Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs): Available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most PNP organizations to cover working capital needs caused by the disaster. EIDLs can be used for fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other operational expenses.
- Homeowners & Renters: Disaster loans of up to $500,000 are available for homeowners to repair or replace damaged real estate, and up to $100,000 for renters and homeowners to repair or replace personal property, including vehicles.

Federal Assistance: Governor Gavin Newsom recently announced wildfire survivors can apply for federal assistance at disasterassistance.gov.
Tax Relief
Extended Tax Deadlines: Individuals and businesses in Southern California affected by wildfires now have until October 15, 2025, to file federal and state tax returns and make tax payments. This applies to all taxpayers located in Los Angeles County, even if the fires did not directly impact them. Relief also applies to taxpayers outside Los Angeles County whose tax professionals are located there.

How to Help Fire Victims in Los Angeles
If you’re looking to support those affected by the wildfires, here are some ways to make a difference:
- The Red Cross: Providing critical aid, including shelter, meals, and emergency supplies to affected families.
- The Salvation Army: Offering wildlife relief, including meals, first aid, temporary housing, and financial assistance for those displaced or impacted by the wildfires.
- California Fire Foundation: Supporting fallen firefighters’ families, firefighters, and wildfire-impacted communities through its Wildfire & Disaster Relief programs.
- Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Providing emergency food assistance to those impacted by the fires. Donations are accepted from 8 am to 5 pm at their centers in Los Angeles and Industry.
Mental Health Resources
Kaiser Permanente is extending mental health resources to members and the community affected by the fires. Members can call 1-833-KP-WITH-U (1-833-579-4848) or access care through the member portal at kp.org or the Kaiser Permanente app.
